The Silpo supermarket on UPA Street in Lviv, the largest city in Western Ukraine and one of the country’s main cultural hubs, represents a unique and visionary retail concept. Covering a surface of 1,500 m², this project stands out for its innovative Cyberculture theme, created in collaboration with NaVi (Natus Vincere), the internationally renowned Ukrainian e-sports team. The result is a shopping experience that merges cutting-edge design, cultural storytelling, and advanced refrigeration technology provided by Epta

A Unique Concept Store Inspired by Cyberculture and E-Sports

The store celebrates the evolution of cyberculture, tracing its journey from the early days of computing to today’s vibrant world of e-sports. Every design element reinforces this narrative: the store’s sign is crafted entirely from real computer keyboard keys, while the checkout counters are shaped like microchips, with one humorously labeled “Error 404.” Structural columns are covered with actual lines of code from Silpo’s website, and the beverage section replicates the aesthetics of a high-tech server room. A dedicated NaVi e-sports zone, equipped with large LED screens showcasing the team’s highlights, further strengthens the immersive experience.

The concept goes beyond aesthetics. The store offers an impressive range of delicacies from over 65 countries, fresh bakery products, smoked fish, and handcrafted Ukrainian specialties. It also acts as a resilience point during power outages, ensuring free Wi-Fi and charging stations for customers — demonstrating the brand’s commitment to both innovation and community support.

Premium Refrigeration Solutions for Exceptional Merchandising

For this exceptional project, Silpo selected Epta’s remote refrigeration cabinets from Costan, including Velvet serve-over for enhanced merchandising of gastronomy products and GranValdaj semivertical for elegantly displayed, fresh pre-packed goods.
These solutions not only maximize product visibility but also seamlessly integrate into the store’s modern and distinctive interior design.

A key factor in Silpo’s decision was the high quality and energy efficiency of Epta’s systems. The installation features an advanced CO₂ refrigeration system, fully aligned with the company’s sustainability goals, and is supported by EptaService’s full after-sales service.
This ensures maximum reliability, long-term performance, and optimized energy consumption.

By delivering state-of-the-art, sustainable, and customizable refrigeration solutions, Epta has contributed to bringing Silpo’s Cyberculture concept to life, reinforcing the retailer’s commitment to innovation and creating a truly one-of-a-kind shopping environment in Lviv.
