Epta’s UNIT refrigeration solution by Iarp has been recognised at the 2026 Sustainability Symbol Awards, organised by Trade magazin in Hungary. The award acknowledges UNIT in the CSR - Environmental category, recognising its approach to embedding circularity and environmental responsibility into refrigeration design.

The Sustainability Symbol Awards recognise initiatives that demonstrate meaningful contributions to sustainability and responsible business practices. The jury assesses entries based on their results, innovation and demonstrated social or environmental impact, with the awarded initiatives considered exemplary practices in their respective fields.

Developed around the principles of the circular economy, UNIT is a positive-temperature counter for beverages combining several features that support a more circular approach throughout the product lifecycle. A key innovation recognised in the application is the use of cork insulation, a natural and renewable raw material that supports a more resource - conscious approach to refrigeration design.

Its modular construction supports repair, renovation and component replacement, allowing individual parts to be accessed and replaced when needed. This contributes to reducing resource consumption and extending service life, in line with 4R approach – Reuse, Repair, Recondition and Recycle. With up to 80% recyclable at end of life, UNIT embodies Epta’s long-term strategy of integrating innovation and sustainability to drive the ecological transition in the Food & Beverage sector.

The 2026 Sustainability Symbol Awards will be formally presented on 23 September during the Business Days 2026 conference at Hunguest Hotel Pelion in Tapolca. This recognition marks another step in Epta’s ongoing work to bring circularity into the development of refrigeration solutions.
